Apple Crumble Bircher Muesli

I couldn’t think of a nicer way to kick-start the day than with this Apple Crumble Bircher Muesli. The yoghurt & apple flavoured oats are soft & creamy with added texture from the maple crumble. Whether it’s enjoyed in the morning by all the family or a grab and go breakfast to have at work, this muesli is guaranteed to set you up for the day ahead.

Bircher Muesli

  • 115 g Glenilen natural yoghurt
  • 100 g porridge oats
  • 100 ml milk
  • 60 ml apple juice
  • 1 red apples, grated
  • 2 tbsp golden raisins
  • pinch of ground cinnamon

Crumble mix

  • 30 g porridge oats
  • 45 g plain flour
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 15 g butter, melted
  • 10 g maple syrup


  • 300 g Glenilen natural yoghurt
  • 2 red apples, diced


  • To make the Bircher, add the oats, yoghurt, grated apple, milk, apple juice, cinnamon and raisins to a bowl and mix well
  • Cover and chill this overnight
  • To make the crumble mix, preheat your oven to 200C/180C fan
  • Place all the ingredients into a bowl and mix to form a crumble mix
  • Place on a lined tray and into the oven for 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown
  • Remove and allow to cool
  • To assemble, place the Bircher into a dish, top with more yoghurt, diced apples and the crumble mix
  • Top Tip: If you think your Bircher is too thick, add adrop of milk or apple juice
