Baked Berry Oatmeal Bars

These little bars of happiness could not be easier to make and bake. They are ideal as a afternoon treat or the perfect lunchbox filler. You can mix it up by used mixed berries or just one type of frozen berry. I think they will become a family favourite in your house!

Crumble Mix

  • 100 g plain flour
  • 100 g porridge oats
  • 0.25 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • Pinch ground cinnamon
  • 25 g butter, melted
  • 25 ml vegetable oil
  • 30 ml apple juice
  • 25 ml maple syrup


  • 120 g Glenilen Natural Yoghurt
  • 180 g frozen mixed berries
  • 50 ml maple syrup
  • 25 g cornflour


  • Preheat the oven to180C/160C fan
  • Line a 8” square baking tin with parchment paper
  • For the crumble mix, place the flour, oats, soda and cinnamon into a bowl and mix
  • To this add the butter, oil, maple and apple juice
  • Mix to form a crumble mix
  • Add half of this mix to the base and press down with a spoon to compact
  • Place in the fridge while you make the filling
  • For the filling, add the yoghurt, frozen berries, corn flour and maple syrup to a bowl and mix well
  • Spoon this onto the chilled base and spread to cover
  • Sprinkle the remaining crumble mix on top and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown all over
